ARTIST STATEMENT

I create art, because ever since I was introduced to painting when I was 13 years of age, by European Artist "Valerius", I was hooked. He didn't teach me how to paint, he only gave me a canvas, some brushes and a pallet full of wonderful oil colours and said "You have been watching me paint . . . now you try it". Try it I did, and I have been painting ever since. A few years ago I was able to finally leave a career in industrial electronics and information technology and I now devote *all* my time to art.

I express my feelings through art, and I capture that feeling . . . a mood, of a place or a subject, with a hope that I can give the viewer a connection to the art work that is in some way personal to the viewer. That is why I paint. Every time a piece of my art connects with a viewer, my art work has succeeded. When somebody purchases an original piece of my art for what it means to *them*, I feel that I created it especially for them, and it has found a home.
